Built-up hot asphalt roofing (BUR) is a traditional system. Stanley provides a variety of BUR systems to meet both short and long term requirements. Most systems can be applied over rigid insulation, wood, steel decks, and concrete; and are tenant improvement friendly.
With cedar prices rising, composition shingles provide a cost-effective alternative that can last up to 50 years. These architecturally designed shingles are aesthetic and can add value to an existing building.
Energy-efficient insulation systems help to ensure maximum thermal performance throughout the life of the building. Stanley Roofing provides both single and double-layer applications. Single layers are most often applied to existing built-up roofing systems or when the deck is not suitable for proper installation of the roofing system. The double-layer system is applied for high thermal R-value and can be used over wood, steel, or concrete decks.
Stanley Roofing installs standing seam sheet metal roof systems and all of its own sheet metal flashings and counters flashings. This allows us to provide a single source warranty for roofing and sheet metal.
These systems include reinforced PVC, EPDM, and TPO and are available as mechanically fastened fully adhered, and ballasted systems. The advantages are less smell and better energy star ratings. Single Ply systems feature high tensile strength, excellent puncture and tear resistance, and weather ability.
• Commercial PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) roofing is a single-ply membrane roofing system. Chemicals are added during the manufacturing process that allows the material to flex with temperature and environmental influences.
• Commercial EPDM (Commercial Ethylene Propylene Diene Terpolymer rubber) roofing is a single-ply and highly reflective energy-efficient roofing system.
• Commercial TPO (Thermoplastic PolyOlefin) roofing is an energy-efficient single-ply and eco-friendly system.
Tapered systems alleviate the drainage issues associated with flat roofs, providing slope needed to prevent premature failure. Flat roofs tend to pond water, adding unnecessary weight and debris.
The main advantage to these systems is the lack of an asphalt roofing odor for buildings with existing tenants. Owners can also obtain the same warranties of 10-20 years associated with Built-Up systems.
